As a school, we appreciate that pupils often prefer to confide in their peers rather than in adults as pupils themselves can be quicker to detect anything concerning or worrying which can then reduce the impact anything has on individuals. Quite often pupils understand things better from their peer perspective better than adults and we do know that pupils generally listen to their peers and take on board their advice. All of our peer mentors have undergone training to ensure that they too have some support in their roles and know who to go to should they or the pupil they are supporting need further guidance.

A Peer Mentor is not a …
Our peer mentors are initially available each lunchtime from 1pm in B7 and B8 where they can chat to pupils who may be worried about something, need some help with their homework or even just want to see a friendly face.
Care & Achievement Coordinators
Our Care & Achievement Coordinators support pupils in each year group, and are the main point of contact between parents, pupils and school. If you have any queries, please contact the appropriate Care & Achievement Coordinator in the first instance.
