Psychology

Our vision:

At Woldgate School we believe that studying Psychology should equip students with the appropriate knowledge, skills and vocabulary needed to be able to understand and explain the causes of human behaviour. Teaching and learning in Psychology is designed to enable students to utilise and develop a range of skills including those required for practical research, extended writing, data analysis and critical evaluation.

In Psychology, students are encouraged to question and hypothesise about the way we think and behave. By exploring a range of key topics in Psychology, students are taught the skills necessary to be able to consider what makes humans human. Alongside learning new key terms and concepts, pupils will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge and evaluate studies and theories, developing well-evidenced conclusions from competing viewpoints.

Everything you do in Psychology should be worthy of great merit, character, and value.

Of great merit: Inquisitive

Of great character: Methodical

Of great value: Benevolent
