Coronavirus: information and advice

Thank you to the many Year 10 and Year 12 parents who completed the recent survey in advance of the government secondary school updates. We have been pleased to see that the government has authorised schools to implement a limited return to school for Year 10 and 12 from the 15th June for some ‘face to face support to supplement the remote education’ as part of phased return to school. Parents will receive further information from the week commencing the 8th June about this phased return so that we can begin to implement the additional support after the government's identified date of 15th June. We will also from the 15th June intensify our support for those children who continue to access remote education. Please do trust that the safety and well-being of our children, colleagues and their families, remains foremost in our thoughts as we take these next steps.

Prospective Pupils

A Supported Transition

Our transition programme begins in Year 6 and continues until the start of Year 8. Our close relationship with local Primary Schools enables us to identify, understand and support the unique strengths and needs of every child. A comprehensive programme of workshops, activities, events, and competitions takes place all year, including opportunities for primary pupils to visit Woldgate School and use our facilities and equipment.

There are many opportunities for pupils and parents to meet our dedicated and experienced team of Year 7 form tutors throughout the Transition process, welcoming pupils and parents into the Woldgate Community.

Headteacher's Welcome

Woldgate is a school with a distinct vision for education. Our view of an outstanding school is based on shared values, where every child is known and cared for as an individual. To cultivate this, we build a supportive and caring community, where a child’s talents can grow through academic study and the opportunity to participate in the many activities, productions and visits that make Woldgate School unique. We are a school with a positive, welcoming, warm atmosphere, in which pupils take pride in their achievements and where each individual pupil achieves academically through consistently good teaching, in an environment that seeks to nurture their love of learning and challenges them to excel.
